Two days in Croatia's waterfall park — the Lower Lakes' boardwalks and the big falls first, then the quieter Upper Lakes chain before the coaches arrive.

Entrance 1 at opening
Buy the two-day ticket and be through the gate at eight — the first hour on the boardwalks, before the tour buses, is a different park. Route B clockwise from here.

Veliki Slap, the Great Waterfall
Straight down the canyon rim path to the park's 78-metre headline act, thundering or lace-thin depending on season. The base viewpoint soaks you pleasantly either way.

Lower Lakes boardwalk chain
The famous planked paths cross water so clear the trout look suspended in air. Kaluđerovac, Gavanovac, Milanovac — each lake a different impossible blue-green.

Electric boat across Kozjak
The silent ferry crosses the park's biggest lake from P3 to P2 — twenty minutes of pine-ringed calm that doubles as the lunch queue shortcut.

Picnic lunch at the P2 lakeside
The park's food kiosks are functional at best — carry a proper picnic and claim a bench at the Kozjak shore. Grilled-cheese burek from Korenica if you shopped smart.

Canyon rim panorama trail
Climb from the boat to the rim path back toward Entrance 1 — the aerial view over the whole Lower Lakes staircase, the shot every drone is banned from taking.

Peka dinner in Mukinje
Order the slow-fired lamb or octopus peka two hours ahead (call — they mean it) at a konoba in the park villages. Under the iron bell is where Croatian cooking lives.
