Wainwright called it "one of the great favourites" and everyone agrees — a pocket mountain with a scrambly top and the whole of Derwentwater below. Two hours up and along.

Sail home across the lake, then take Ruskin's favourite five-minute walk to Friar's Crag — the pines-and-water view that made him call Keswick "almost too beautiful to live in".
